Middle Age Bones and Soy Protein

I don't like Soy but you middle age women might want to try it after reading this new report on middle age women's bone health.

Bone fractures can be a problem for women middle age and older. Happens thousands of times each year right here in USA. This four and half year study of over 24,000 women revealed those who consumed the most Soy protein had the best bone health record. The fewest bone fractures. Over 50 percent reduction. The more soy consumed- the better the record.

How much Soy protein did they have to consume to come out on top of this problem so many face? The American Heart Association says daily consumption of 25 grams soy protein would be " heart disease preventive."

This new research suggests that would also prevent bones from breaking in the 40 to 70 age group. Each cup of soy milk averages over 6 grams. The top 20 percent of this group of 24,000 middle age women took two cups daily. Some took a piece of tofu daily.

Researcher Dr. Schu signed off by saying: " In my opinion, women should increase soy consumption."
